(Y/n) exits the east side of Hyrule Castle Town, heading right towards the small ruins near it. 'It's your final job,' she reminds herself silently. 'Then it's over for the week and you can see Link again.'

When she reaches it, she immediately spots her target. Taking out her favorite dagger, she quietly maneuvers around the columns and the crumbling remains of walls until she's directly behind the unsuspecting Moblin, who's staring curiously at the moon a little bit above it. Swiftly, she stabs the monster in the back, hearing it let out a pained sound before falling over. It turns into purple ash when it hits the ground.

After inspecting the ground, (Y/n) puts her dagger away with an annoyed look. "Tch," she mutters. "It didn't even drop a green rupee." A slow clapping makes her freeze, and she spins around to see a pair of ruby red eyes staring at her with amusement.

"Outstanding," the figure purrs. "Not even a sound. I'm guessing assassin." (Y/n) scowls at the newcomer.

"Bounty Hunter," she corrects him. The figure shrugs.

"You have the potential to be either." She faces him fully, her glare now holding a curious glint.

"And just who might you be?" This question earns her another shrug.

"Who might you be?"

"I asked first.

"Hm, doesn't matter." (Y/n) crosses her arms.

"I don't feel like telling you, especially since I can't see a face." The stranger holds up his hands in surrender, and she can tell he's smirking.

"Fair enough." He hops off the column he was sitting on, making him visible in the soft moonlight, and (Y/n) gasps at the boy in front of her.

The boy is wearing a black tunic, similar to her hero's. His skin is pale, much like the glow of the moon, which contrasts greatly with his raven-black hair. His eyes are red, which she had assumed to be like the color of rubies, but now that she is closer, they look a bit more closer to the crimson shade of blood. But what throws her off the most is that he's almost a carbon copy of her beloved Link. He chuckles.

"Like what you see, Princess?" (Y/n) snaps out of her small trance, and lets a scoff escape her lips.

"As if. Your appearance did catch me off guard, though." The boy rolls his eyes.

"I still didn't catch a name."

"Neither did I."

"Feisty," he chuckles. "I like it." (Y/n) glares as he bows mockingly. "The name is Dark, my good madame. And what might yours be?" After a couple seconds of silence, she frowns.

"(Y/n)," she replies. They boy, now identified as Dark, smirks.

"Pleasure to meet you~." She starts to feel uneasy around him, and reaches for her dagger as a familiar voice calls out,

"Don't you dare touch her." Both of them face the direction the voice came from, and see Link stalking towards Dark, a look of fury on his face. Dark's smirk grows as he moves over to (Y/n), grabbing her from behind and resting his chin on her shoulder, causing her to blush. Link's glare grows darker as he stops a couple feet away from them.

"Well, looks like I did. What are you going to do about it~?" Link growls.

"You have five seconds to let her go and start running before I show you exactly what I'm capable of." Both Dark and (Y/n)'s face holds a look of shock before Dark starts to laugh.

"And what exactly are you capable of? Being the laziest hero I've ever seen?"

Link smirks before pulling out his Clawshot, activating it. The claw shoots out, grasping (Y/n)'s arm. She lets out a gasp when it starts to retract, managing to pick her off her feet and pull her with it. When she reaches Link, the Clawshot releases her and he takes her arm gently, kissing her before moving her behind him. (Y/n)'s blush intensifies as Link pulls out his sword and points the tip at Dark's heart.

"I gave you a chance," Link says with a shrug. Dark grins.

"I guess I'll take my leave, then." He winks at (Y/n), who gives him a scowl, before snapping his fingers and disappearing into the night.

Link puts away his sword, turning back to (Y/n) with a concerned gaze. "You alright?" She nods.

"I'm fine, honest." She then giggles. "I've never seen you that angry before. Who knew that you could get jealous easily?" Link pouts.

"I'm not jealous! I was just protecting you!" (Y/n) rolls her eyes playfully, hugging her hero.

"Sure~." She then gives him an inquisitive look. "So why are you out and about in the middle of the night?" Link chuckles.

"I can ask the same about." (Y/n) shrugs, laughing a bit.

"It's a long story, I'll tell you tomorrow."
