Here it is! No, you're not  fairy...sorry. Enjoy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Can't believe
you let me go
after all we've
been through,
highs and lows.
"I just think you're jealous, (Y/n). Why else would you be acting this way!?" Link shouts. You narrow your eyes at him. How dare he call you jealous? Even though it's true, you would never tell him that. You scoff.
"I can't believe you think that I'm jealous just because you're dating Mrs. Perfect again! Zelda is just using you, can't you see that? This is the eighth time you two got back together, only a couple months after she broke your heart. Doesn't that mean anything to you?"
"Just leave me alone, you don't understand!" Link growls.
Zelda and Link are an on again-off again couple. She'll leave Link brokenhearted for months on end before crawling back to him, and he'll always eagerly agree. You kept warning him over and over again that she'll just leave him hurt as always. He never listened to you, and ended up with another broken heart. What he saw in her you didn't know, but what you did know, was that you'd treat him better.
That's right, you love Link. More than you ever thought was possible. Of course, like in all the cliche romance stories people tried to sell you in Castle Town Market, he never notices. So, of course you're jealous of that prissy brat. All she has to do is say hi and she has Link's full attention. You still can't believe he hasn't learned.
"After all we've been through, Link? That's what you say to me? Ever since the Princess has been interested in you, it's like I don't exist, anyways. So why DON'T I just leave? It's seems like you're perfectly happy without me." Link gives you a look of anguish.
You didn't even
say good-bye,
you let me
turn and pass
you by
You push past him, slamming the door behind you. That's it. You've finally done it. This time, you're going to stay away from him. You start walking home, fighting tears. He didn't even say good-bye.
You shake your head, clearing your thoughts. You're going to practically murder your feelings when you get home. Why can't he get it through his thick head that Zelda doesn't love him?
And no you're
not one to
speak but
after all we've
been through,
all we've seen.
I need to
tell you
how I feel.
'Cause being
away is too
unreal.
You wish you can just get it through. You know he doesn't speak often, but he used to be so open around you. You were with him during his quest to save Hyrule, you both explored the Zora Domain as children, you traveled through the Gerudo Valley. You've seen and been through so much together. How can he just choose Spoiled Princess?
You enter your home. You wish you can just tell him how you feel, but you can't. He'll always go running back to Zelda, always.
Listen
Hey, Listen.
All this time
I thought you
knew me.
All this time
you didn't
choose me.
Listen
Hey, Listen.
We don't have
to say good-bye,
Link, don't let
this pass you by.
Now you know how Navi feels. Link always ignored her, so you had to basically repeat what Navi said just so he can take what she said into consideration, even though she was his friend.
You collapse in your bed, not bothering to change out of your regular clothes. You actually believed that once Link had gotten to know you, that he would've at least picked up one of the several signs you've been leaving that practically scream, 'Hey, I like you'. He knows you well enough that he should.
Yet after all the adventures you two experienced, he still didn't pick you. It's Zelda, it's always Zelda.
You curl up in the bed, refusing to even let a single tear fall from your eyes. You will not cry over a boy. If your parents taught you anything, it was to never cry over something that wasn't yours in the first place. Then you realize you Link is, well...was, your best friend, therefore you have every right to sob on this bed right now.
You don't want to say good-bye to him, you never did. He just seemed to let you go, and that kills you. When you walked out, you hoped he would have at least tried to stop you, and not let you slip out of his grasp.
There are times
where I want
to linger,
reach out to
you and touch
your fingers.
See you laugh
and smile again,
to be together
in the end.
You want to be able to hold his hand whenever you felt like it. Your fingers are constantly itching to grab his. You especially wanted to do this ever since he's started dating Zelda. You noticed that he hasn't been smiling and laughing as much as he did during your quest, and that's like an arrow to the heart.
You laugh a little, remembering how you used to fantasize him saving you, being your own hero, and imagining ways that he'll confess his love for you. Of course, that'll never happen.
You sigh, shifting so you're lying on your back. Why must the Goddesses put you through this? Loving someone who'll never love you back...and watching them love someone else...it's pure torture. Maybe this is Ganondorf's last curse, before he died he made your fate worse than his death.
And why shouldn't
we just go back?
We'll fight
Ganondorf 'till
day turns black.
Just hit the
button,
hit restart,
together we'll be
we'll never part.
Why can't you just turn back time? Why can't you go back to the days of your quest with Link and Navi before she vanished, where the three of you laughed and joked the night away, sharing stories from as far away as the Fairy Realm? You'd rather fight Ganondorf with Link than go through this the rest of your life.
The Ocarina of Time can possibly make that happen, but Zelda has it. It's not like you can take it back from Link or have him play it. You wish time can rewind, then you two can still be together like the good days. You don't care if you two will never be together, if you two can just be best friends again.
Listen
Hey, Listen.
All this time
I thought you
knew me.
All this time
you didn't
choose me.
Listen
Hey, Listen.
We don't have
to say good-bye,
Link don't let
this pass you
by.
You finally let the tears fall, not caring anymore. Fate is cruel, you know that, but love is a savage monster*. You will give anything to help Link realize that Zelda isn't good enough for him, that she's not the one.
You use the pillow to hide your face as you sob. You wish he's with you right now, comforting you. But you know that soon enough, he's going to be the one in need of comfort. you'll have to fix the heart that Zelda broke, just like always.
~*Timeskip*~
So stupid how
much I miss you
but since I left
I can't get
used to
what it's like
just being
alone.
Just can't function
being on my own.
You glance out the window, seeing the beautiful day unfold in front of you. The sunrise shines as you get out of bed and stretch. It's been two weeks since you've last seen Link, and as much as you hate to admit you, it aches to not see him.
It's so stupid and idiotic. You've been missing him like he died in front of your eyes. Your mind keeps replaying memories with him over and over again. You've grown so used to his presence that you feel so lost on your own. Does he feel this way, too?
You dismiss the idea quickly. He hasn't come looking for you yet, so obviously he's enjoying the time away from you. And if it means his happiness...you'll keep it that way.
And my love,
it can't subside.
Back in Kokiri,
in your heart
I'll hide.
We'll be
together,
just you and me.
Link, I love you,
can't you see?
Unfortunately, that's not what you're heart wants. It wants to see him, it wants to visit the Kokiri Forest with him again, where you realized your feelings for him. It wants to be with him forever. Maybe you can go and hide in Kokiri Forest, Link will be too busy to look for you there, if he is looking for you, anyways.
"Din-d****** Link, can't you see that I love you?" you whisper to no one, breaking the silence that hasn't been disturbed for two weeks. You change your clothes, fix your hair, and step out of the house. The fresh air slaps you in the face, refreshing you as walk through Castle Town, and enter Hyrule Field.
Link's P.O.V
Link sits in the middle of Hyrule Field, an empty look in his eyes. (Y/n) was right. Zelda had cheated on him with one of the visiting princes two days ago. Why didn't he listen to her?
He wants to look for (Y/n), he knows for a fact that she's in her house right now, but he can't bring himself to do it. The look on her face when she stormed out of his house two weeks ago, it was the look of utter hurt and betrayal. That hurt him more than Ganondorf ever could.
Link stands, turning to the direction of (Y/n)'s house. If he wants to see her again, then he's going to have to go to her instead of avoiding her, hoping she'll come back.
Link starts walking, but pauses when he sees a group of moblins, four of them. Confused, link approaches them carefully. He thought all the monsters had disappeared when Ganondorf was defeated.
As if sensing his presence, the moblins turn and spot Link. He draws out his sword and gets into a fighting stance. The moblins screech and run towards him, swinging their lances. Link's eyes widen, not at the speed of the monsters, but because of a (h/c) blur rushing between him and the monsters, brandishing a sword.
"You leave him alone, you overgrown pigs." The moblins almost look offended. Link blinks.
"(Y-Y/n)?" (Y/n) faces him, an embarrassed smile gracing her features, but her eyes house a determined glint.
"Are you that surprised to see me?"
"Uh, yeah. I haven't seen you in two weeks." She rubs the back of her neck self-consciously, smile fading.
"I figured you didn't want me around anymore." The moblins roar again, and charge at her. (Y/n) faces them and takes a moblin down in one strike. "You just gonna stand there or are you going to help me?"
Link nods, raising sword. "I always be there for you." Link sees her visibly flinch, and he knows why. He hasn't been there for here for the past two weeks, of course it hurts her to hear those words.
Listen
Hey, Listen.
All this time
I thought you
knew me,
All this time
you didn't
choose me.
Listen
Hey, Listen.
We don't have
to say good-bye.
Link, don't let
this pass you
by.
Your P.O.V
You and Link fight back to back, trying to land at least one hit on the moblins. They keep dodging, trying to stab either you or Link with their long spears. Finally, you manage to dance around one so they would turn around, and you perform a deadly blow.
You smile in triumph, but your smile turns into a look of horror. A moblin starts sneaking up on Link, ready for a final strike.
"No!" You cry out as you throw yourself between them. Link finishes off the moblin he's fighting and spins around, gasping. Link yells your name as the moblin that sneaked up behind him drives the spear into your stomach.
A scream escapes your lips as it pulls the spear out, causing you to fall to your knees. The moblin bears a sadistic, ugly grin before raising the spear over it's head. You close your eyes, ready for spear to end your life.
But it never came. You open your eyes to find Link standing in front of you, the mobin reduced to smoke. Link drops his sword then face you, dropping to his knees as well. "Din, Nayru, and Farore. (Y/n), I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." Tears fall from his eyes as you put on a smile.
"Link, I'm fine, really-"
"No, I'm sorry about treating you like you were invisible. I'm sorry about acting like such a jerk." You laugh a little.
"It's my fault, you were just happy with her...I'm glad you're happy." Link shakes his head.
"I'm not happy with Zelda. She was using me, just like you said." You hate being right. Link carefully wraps his arms around you, searching through his bag. "I know I have a fairy here somewhere."
"It's too late..."
Listen
Hey, Listen
Link Listen,
please Listen
Listen.
"Link, I need you to listen to me." Link looks at you, eyes full of pain, even more than when Zelda broke his heart.
"I can get you to the doctor, maybe he'll be able to help-"
"Like I said, it's too late. Just smile again, at least one more time." Link struggles a little, but he puts on a smile. You grin weakly. "There. That's better. Try to stay happy for me, okay?" Link nods.
"I will." You take a deep breath, wincing from the wound.
"Link?"
"Yes, (Y/n)?" It's now or never.
"I love you." Link's look changes into one of shock, then into sorrow and compassion. He brings you closer and whispers,
"I love you, too." Smiling, you take your last breath.
One Thousand Years Later
Link's P.O.V
Link wanders around Hyrule Castle Town, feeling strangely depressed. It's almost like someone he loved died today or something.
He sighs, but smiles as an elderly couple waves at him. He grins and waves back-
And runs into someone. Great job.
Falling to the ground, Link takes one glance at the person, and his heart skips a beat. It's a girl around his age, maybe sixteen or seventeen, and she had beautiful (h/c) hair and shining (e/c) eyes. She's wearing a light, (f/c) dress with a matching headband and shoes.
"Ouch, didn't see that coming." Her eyes meet his, and it's like a wave of adrenaline rushes through him. He feels a blush rise to his face as he stutters,
"I-I'm so sorry about that, I wasn't watching and I-" He is cut off by the girl's laughter, which made Link become a little flustered again.
"It's fine, honest. I wasn't watching either." He grins again.
"So, what's your name?" The girl smiles brightly at him.
"My name's (Y/n)." (Y/n)...for some reason that sounds so familiar to him. "And you are?"
"Oh, sorry. My name's Link, pleasure to meet you, though I would've preferred a better introduction than knocking you to the ground." Link stands up and offers his hand to (Y/n). She blushes lightly, and when she takes it, a spark flies through Link's body. He helps her up and she dusts the dirt off her dress. She studies him a bit, then asks,
"Have we met before? I feel like I know you somehow." Link shakes his head.
"I'm almost positive I haven't seen your face before, but you do seem familiar to me." (Y/n) nods, then turns halfway around.
"Well, I best be leaving. I don't want to trouble you-"
"Wait," Link says as he takes her hand, chills going down his spine from the spark. For some strange cause, he feels like if she leaves, she would basically take his whole heart with him, and he'll never see her again. "I want to get to know you more if that's alright." She blinks, then smiles warmly at him.
"Alright. How about we meet up here again at three. Deal?" Link returns her smile, feeling like he's found a missing piece of his heart.
"Deal."
Listen
Hey, Listen
Link Listen,
please Listen,
Listen
Gosh, this took me all of yesterday and today to complete. :iconimdeadplz: I had to put off NaNo for this...I have a lot of work tomorrow.
This is also based off of the the song, "Hey, Listen" by Meekakitty, which can be found here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhuQyu…
This is the fastest piece of work I've ever done, two days flat. I'm pretty proud. :icondignitylaughplz: Although, I might've made a mistake here and there, so ignore that please.
Me: Nik, it's that time again.
Nik: :iconsighingplz: Man, I miss not hearing you say that. Greeny does not own anything Legend of Zelda related or the song.. She just owns the plot.
Me: :glomp: Thanks!
You thought I killed you off, didn't you? Psyche! I had you two meet in the next life! The story begins in Ocarina of Time, then ends in Twilight Princess after he defeated Ganondorf.
*Anyone who can guess where the last five words, "Love is a savage monster" came from gets to be super epic. *cough cough Percy Jackson fans should know cough cough*
Well, I think that's it. Now on to my book and other stories! :D Comments are appreciated!
Bye! :hug:
Edit
Oh my geez, you guys, there were so many mistakes in here, I swear I felt like fainting...and you people loved it anyways. You guys make my whole flipping month, thanks a lot for reading this! :tighthug:
